On the spring equinox of 1987, CBS News sent a crew to the canyon country of southeastern Colorado and the Oklahoma panhandle for the purpose of observing and filming two seasonal cusp light shows, one at the Crack Cave at dawn and the other at the Anubis Caves before and at sunset. The report was broadcast to a national audience a few days afterwards.
